Whether we force the owners of these neglected properties to clean them up and make them presentable again or we will have to take legal action. These properties are North Tonawanda residents neighbors which they shouldn't have to look at day in and day out. They could be rodent infested, an invitation for criminals to break in to, kids could get hurt if they find an open door and want to explore, they also could be a target of arson. Enough is enough, lets get down to real issues in this Great City and clean out the garbage!
Another issue in this city is the projects that were started years ago and never finished and now they just sit there. The old Roblin Steel Property on Oliver Street between 9th Ave and East Ave. That is a huge piece of land that could be developed and bring in more tax base for the city. Why is it just sitting there empty. I will do my best to see if there is a resolution to this property if I am elected in November.
As I have been walking door to door meeting these wonderful residents, the topic of Mid-City Plaza has been a major discussion. The answer is, it has been purchased recently by new owners. The new owner are beginning to fix up the property such as, new pavement, painting the outside of the plaza and they are looking for tenants to fill the vacant store fronts.
